Spring 2017 Hand Building Functional Ceramic Vessels: ADVANCED

Instructor: Richard Lo Piccolo 

Join Richard for this advanced hand building class for experienced students. Each student will work from sketches of concepts they want to pursue. You will have opportunities to advance skills of combining slab and extruded clay constructions, focusing on larger work. You will learn how to make at least one press mold, using a found object, and plaster. In addition, we will have beginning kiln loading and firing operations, some coloring of clay bodies and making colored slips. 

Richard has an extensive background in clay, jewelry, bronze and glass from his early days in Illinois and later at Loyola and Tulane. Class is limited to 6 to 10 spots.

Supplies included *Fee includes limited amount of firings, glazes and clay.
Age: 18 and up
