The Process of Creating Cover Art at St. Tammany Art Association

Saturday, April 21, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm  
Ages 9-14   
$25 fee – includes all supplies

Pack your favorite art making tools and join illustrator and fellow creative cat, Hannah Gumbo, as she leads this workshop on the process of creating cover art for your latest project. Fee includes all supplies but please feel free to bring your favorite materials and any sketches. Pre-registration with St. Tammany Art Association is required.

The St. Tammany Art Association (STAA) admits students of all race, color, and ethnic origin. Students are responsible for full tuition paid prior to start date of each program. Students will be notified within 12 hours if a class is cancelled; however students may not be contacted again once registration is made. REFUNDS: A full refund will be issued if STAA must cancel your class, or if the student cancels by phone or e-mail no less than one week before the first day of class. CONDUCT: If a student is disruptive or disrespectful to the instructor, other students, or the facility, he/ she may be excused from the program and will not be issued a refund on tuition. LIABILITY WAIVER: Further, Student/Guardian agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the STAA and/or the City of Covington, its officers, directors and employees, from any and all actions, losses, damages, claims, or liability that may occur as a result of the holding of the scheduled event and incurs and assumes all responsibility for all actions, losses, damages, claims, during any necessary set up, take down and during the scheduled event. MEDIA RELEASE: By registering, you give consent for the student enrolled to be photographed and/ or videotaped for the use by STAA in the production of any and all media for marketing purposes.

Join us for a celebration of illustration for children with a story and craft featuring the book The Book That Wanted to be Red by Jerica Guillory and illustrated by Hannah Gumbo. Meet the author and illustrator! After Ms. Guillory shares her book, the children will make a craft led by Ms. Gumbo. The program is free but space is limited. Please register. Copies of The Book That Wanted to be Red will be available for purchase. 

Please note that Fruit Loop cereal will be used in the craft.

Video Game Illustration Workshop at Covington Branch Library

Love to draw?  Love to game?  Bring your creativity and join special guest game designer and illustrator Shiho Pate as she leads this one-time workshop on the process of designing a home screen for a video game.

This program is offered in partnership with St. Tammany Art Association’s Il•lus•trate exhibit.
