St. Tammany Art Association presents an opportunity for military veterans to come together to create with pottery. Explore the world of hand building clay with instructor Richard Lo Piccolo. Choose from sketches of concepts you want to create, or let your imagination run wild with freeform creations.
Two-session workshops provide an opportunity to explore slab and extruded clay constructions to create functional or decorative ware. In addition, students will learn beginning kiln loading and firing operations.
Richard has an extensive background in clay, jewelry, bronze and glass from his early days in Illinois and later at Loyola and Tulane.
Fee includes a limited amount of clay, glazes and firings.
This workshop is made possible through the generosity of our Season of Arts sponsors. Supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts/ArtWorks.
